Marquette A. Mapp, known as “ATL,” is a seasoned longshoreman with 25 years of dedicated service on the waterfront. Throughout his career, he has earned the trust of his peers through consistent leadership and representation, serving as Assistant Hiring Delegate, a two-term Trustee, and a two-time member of the Contract Committee. He has also represented his local as a Delegate to the International Convention and as a Union Representative to the Dock and Marine Counsel, advocating for the rights and interests of his fellow workers.
Before his career on the docks, Marquette worked as a telecommunications systems engineer, bringing technical expertise and discipline that continue to inform his work today. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he carries forward a strong commitment to service, integrity, and teamwork.
Beyond his professional and union contributions, Marquette is a devoted husband of 30 years and a proud father of two children. He is also a Deacon at Charity Missionary Baptist Church, where he remains active in faith and community service. His life reflects a deep commitment to family, faith, and the collective strength of his community.
